The Tensas Parish Clerk of Court's Office has original records dating back to 1843. Steps are being taken to preserve our extremely aged and fragile documents. Records have been microfilmed, and we are working on obtaining the latest technology to obtain digital images for your convenience.
The Clerk of Court staff are trained professionals; however, they are prohibited from giving any legal advice. Information regarding legal procedures may be obtained in any law library or by contacting an area attorney.
The Tensas Parish Clerk of Court's Office is self-supporting. All salaries and expenses of the office are paid out of the fees, as fixed by statute, collected for recording, certified copies and services rendered in connection with civil, probate and criminal proceedings. Taxpayer's dollars are not used for the operation of the office.
